Selecting Multiple Files or Objects and Performing an Action
“Selecting” is required as soon as you would like to perform actions such as creating a task, or deleting or copying files.
To allow you to work more quickly with files or objects (e.g., contacts or product data sets), you can select multiple items and perform actions in the toolbox or with Drag&Drop.

Tip 1: Selective multiple choice of files or objects
- Open a module of your choice – for example, “Files”.
- Select your preferred display option: Tile view or list view.
- Clicking on a file or object selects it. This places a check in the checkbox next to the tile or list entry.
- Press and hold the Ctrl button on your PC or CMD button on your Mac.
- Clicking on further files or objects allows you to carry out a selective multiple choice.
For example: Multiple files are selected - Available actions for the selected files or objects are displayed in the toolbox.
Note: Actions can be specific to files or objects and may only be available if you select one or more files/objects of the same type. For example, the action of mass tagging is only available once you have selected at least two files/objects. - Actions with the toolbox: Select any action in the toolbox.
Drag&Drop (files only): Perform a Drag&Drop action for the files.
For example:
- Copying or moving files
- Moving files via Drag&Drop
Tip 2: Multiple choice selection of files or objects in series
- Open a module of your choice – for example, “Files”.
- Select your preferred display option: Tile view or list view.
- Clicking on a file or object selects it. This places a check in the checkbox next to the tile or list entry.
- Press and hold the Shift button on your PC or Mac.
- Clicking on a neighboring file or object performs a multiple choice selection of a series.
For example: The Thunderstorm.jpg file was selected first and the Butterfly.jpg file was selected as the end of the series. - Available actions for the selected files or objects are displayed in the toolbox.
Note: Actions can be specific to files or objects and may only be available if you select one or more files/objects of the same type. For example, the action of mass tagging is only available once you have selected at least two files/objects. - Actions with the toolbox: Select any action in the toolbox.
Drag&Drop (files only): Perform a Drag&Drop action for the files.
For example:

Tip 3: Multiple choice selection of all files or objects on a page
- Open a module of your choice – for example, “Files”.
- Select your preferred display option: Tile view or list view.
- Clicking on a file or object selects it. This places a check in the checkbox next to the tile or list entry.
- Press the key combination Ctrl + A on your PC or CMD + A on your Mac to select all files or objects on the page.
For example: All files are selected - Available actions for the selected files or objects are displayed in the toolbox.
Note: Actions can be specific to files or objects and may only be available if you select one or more files/objects of the same type. For example, the action of mass tagging is only available once you have selected at least two files/objects. - Actions with the toolbox: Select any action in the toolbox.
Drag&Drop (files only): Perform a Drag&Drop action for the files.

Additional Tips
Multiple Choice Selection Across Several Pages of Results
It is possible to select multiple options across several pages of results. Select files or objects by means of one of the options described in Tips 1–3 and scroll through to a different page of results. Select additional files or objects here and start any action in the toolbox.
Restrictions
Drag&Drop is only available within a single page of results.
Combining Tips 1–3
You can even combine Tips 1–3 by selecting a series or all files/objects and deselecting/selecting additional files/objects selectively while pressing and holding the Ctrl button on your PC or CMD button on your Mac.
