You can use "drag & drop" to copy or move files from the Files module.


When does it make sense to use drag & drop?

Whenever you are working with objects, such as if you want to move files to other modules such as Collections, Shopping Cart, or Folders.


Advantages of drag & drop

"Drag & drop" is especially helpful for users who prefer visual and intuitive operation of their user interface. For example, 4ALLPORTAL interacts with you as soon as you start dragging an asset. Icons in the user interface will pulsate to indicate that you can put assets into your shopping cart using drag & drop, for instance.


Note: Drag & drop only possible using a desktop web browser or the 4ALLPORTAL - Desktop App.


Tip 5: Drag & drop in the Files module


  1. First, you need to select the desired files.

  2. Left-click and hold on one of the selected files. As soon as you start dragging by moving the mouse cursor with the mouse, icons will begin to pulsate. Those modules and folders support drag & drop.

  3. Release the mouse button when the cursor is hovering over a pulsating icon to drop the files.

  4. The action will be executed. 


Another tip

If you let the cursor hover over a folder for a bit longer before you release your mouse button, further sub-folders will open automatically.When using drag & drop for an object and hovering the cursor over the Collections module, you will be taken into the module and can add the files to an existing collection.
