Installation requirements

  • 4ALLPORTAL from release 3.2

  • Administration rights for PC or installation via central software distribution as an alternative

  • Windows 7 or Windows 10 operating system

  • Microsoft Office versions 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 | Office 365 for Windows (32 bit, 64 bit, see Restrictions)

  • .NET Framework from version 4.5.2


Restrictions

The plugin is not compatible with macOS due to the specifications of the .NET Framework.

The web control / add-in was developed and tested to be compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint (32 bit). It is, however, still possible to use PowerPoint (64 bit). Please be aware that you will not receive any support within the scope of your maintenance and support agreement if you are using 64-bit operation for your web control /add-in. Please contact our support desk in such cases.

Conditions of use

  • Active 4ALLPORTAL user access (AD/LDAP compatible)



Installation

The PowerPoint plugin can be installed in two different ways:

  • Local installation on a computer via Windows Installer

  • Installation via software distribution on the client system


Local installation on a computer (end user)

Local installation takes place via Windows Installer.

You need the executable file “setup.exe” along with the “4AllPortalMediaDatabaseSetup.msi” package file in order to launch the Windows Installer. Both of these can be found in the “4ALLPORTAL-PowerPoint_Plugin_Installer_1_1.....zip” zip folder.


  1. Download the “4ALLPORTAL-PowerPoint_Plugin_Installer_1_1.....zip” installation package from the “Downloads” area. This can be found under the “Downloads” tab under the “Profile” menu in the 4ALLPORTAL.



  2. Unpack the 4ALLPORTAL-PowerPoint_Plugin_Version_1_1.....zip

  3. Launch the Windows Installer with the “setup.exe”.



  4. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard. Click on “ Next ”.



  5. Click on “ Next ” again. The installation begins.

  6. If the installation is successful, the wizard displays “ Installation Complete ”.

  7. Click on “Close”. This ends the installation.
    The plugin is now available in your PowerPoint versions.



Installation via software distribution (system administrator only)

The PowerPoint plugin can be installed via a System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) on client systems.

This requires the “4AllPortalMediaDatabaseSetup.msi” package file, which can also be found in the “4ALLPORTAL-PowerPoint_Plugin_Version_1_1.....zip” installation package, which can be downloaded from the “Downloads” tab under the “Profile” menu.
