A connection with the 4ALLPORTAL is required to use the desktop app.

The following connection data is required:

  • URL of the relevant 4ALLPORTAL – for example, “https://sample.4allportal.com”
  • Active 4ALLPORTAL user access – user name and password

Establishing a Connection Once the Desktop App is Installed

After the initial installation, the desktop app displays the “Connections” menu on startup.

Note: The desktop app generally carries over any existing connections after an update.

  1. Click on the “+” button to establish a new connection.

  2. Enter a name for this connection in the “New connection” field – for example, “Our 4ALLPORTAL”.

  3. Enter the URL of your 4ALLPORTAL in the “URL to the target system” field – for example “https://sample.4allportal.com

  4. Click on the floppy disk button to save the connection data.

  5. Then enable the connection by clicking on the round button in front of the connection name. This also activates the “Next” button.

  6. Clicking on the “Next” button ends the connection setup process. You will be taken to the login screen.

Note: If you enter the incorrect information or experience a connection problem, you will see the message “Invalid connection”.
Check the information entered in the “URL to target system” field. You can copy the URL into your browser to test it out. If the 4ALLPORTAL opens, there is a different type of connection problem that your in-house administrator can resolve.

Managing/Selecting Connections

You can edit existing connection data, establish further 4ALLPORTAL connections, and select these for use via the “Connections” menu.

  1. Launch the desktop app.

  2. Clicking on the “Connections” button below the login area opens the Connections menu.

Note: You can only activate one connection – i.e., you can only be connected to one 4ALLPORTAL at a time.
