There is a permissions management in place for the Collections module that allows the creator and organizer of a collection to assign certain collection permissions to participants for the purpose of collaboration.
Minimum collection permissions
Without the assignment of additional collection permissions, participants are allowed to use the following functions:
- View files in collections
- Use the color and star markings and comments
- Use the quick download
- Add files from the collection to the shopping cart
- Create a task for the collection
- Start an approval workflow for the collection
These functions are controlled via the respective module permissions.
Additional collection permissions
Optionally, you can assign participants the following collection permissions.
Function | Consequence |
---|
Allow uploads | All participants are allowed to: - upload files and add them to the collection
|
---|
Edit collection | Selected participants or user roles are allowed to: - edit the collection properties
- add files from the Files module to the collection
- remove files from the collection
|
---|
Delete collection | Selected participants or user roles are allowed to: |
---|
Assign rights | Selected participants or user roles are allowed to: - invite other users as participants
- assign them collection permissions
Note: This enables the participant to assign permissions to themselves.
|
---|
Note: Collection permissions can give users additional rights if their role would restrict them with respect to viewing, editing, and deleting collections (role-based authorization value = “Own”). If there are no role-specific restrictions (value = “All”), participants will have full authorization for viewing, editing, and deleting collections anyway.
