Favorites allows you to set files as favorites so that you always have quick access to your frequently required files via the sidebar no matter where you are in the 4ALLPORTAL rather than having to use the search or collection functions.

Creating a Favorite

  1. Open the Files module in the main view and perform a search if necessary.

  2. Switch the display option to tile view if required.

  3. Clicking on the “Heart” icon on the tile for a file sets it as a favorite. The icon changes color based on the defined primary color of the user interface theme.

     
    Example: The file is set as a favorite

  4. The favorite is now displayed in the sidebar.


Deselecting as a Favorite 

  1. Open the Files module in the main view and perform a search if necessary.

  2. Switch the display options to tile view if required.

  3. Select a favorite file (with the “Heart” icon highlighted in the primary color).

  4. Clicking on the “Heart” icon on the tile for a file deselects it as a favorite. The icon turns gray. 

     
    Example: The file is not set as a favorite

  5. The favorite is no longer displayed in the sidebar.


1. Open and close

Clicking on the “Heart” icon opens and closes the sidebar containing the set favorites.


2. Favorites

Favorites are sorted chronologically in descending order from when they were first created. The most recently created favorite is at the top of the list. The date shown is the date on which the file was set as a favorite.

Use your mouse wheel to scroll down through the entire list to view all the entries.


Notes:  Deleted files will no longer figure in the Favorites list.

Behavior: The Favorites list is updated by closing and re-opening the sidebar.


3. Quick Access

Double-click on a favorite to display the file in the detail view.


Restrictions

The ability to create favorites is a standard feature for files in the Files module.

The “Heart” icon for creating and deselecting favorites is only available in tile view.

4. Delete favorites

A click on the “Delete” icon in the header area will delete the entire Favorites list.

Or you can delete individual favorites from the list by clicking on the “Delete” icon next that those favorites.
